It is with sadness that I inform the ANARE Club of the passing of Dr Julie Therese Campbell, Medical Officer, Mawson 1982
Passed 28 November 2017.

Julie was the first female to ever winter at Mawson Station, and the second to winter at an Australian Antarctic continental base.  Growing up in Sydney, Julie graduated from the University of New South Wales with an MBBS.  She arrived at Mawson Station in early 1982 on the last Nanok S voyage of the season, and returned to Australia on the last Nella Dan voyage of the season in 1983.
