ANARE Club Newsletter August 2024 – Part 1.

ANARE Club

August 2024 Newsletter (Part 1!)

There’s so much going on this week, we’re splitting the newsletter into two parts so you don’t miss out on any of the news and activities.

STATION TELECONFERENCES

STARTING THIS WEEK!

Casey – Tuesday 13 August at 7pm AEST

Davis – Thursday 15 August at 8pm AEST

Macquarie Island – Tuesday 27 August at 7pm AEST

Mawson – Thursday 29 August at 7pm AEST

To take part in the 30-minute teleconference, go to the registration page, log in and sign up for as many as you’d like to attend. You don’t have to have been an expeditioner at that station (or at all!).

Bring your stories and questions, and prepare to enjoy the camaraderie and connection with our colleagues ‘down south’!

And don’t forget – next Saturday 17 August is the

ANARE Club

2024 Annual General Meeting

at 1:30pm AEST

at the historic Mission for Seafarers

717 Flinders Street, Docklands, Melbourne

The Mission to Seafarers is a short walk down Spencer Street and right into Flinders Street from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Railway station. See the AGM page for further directions.

Members are encouraged to attend in person or may attend by Zoom.

Please register your attendance by emailing the Secretary as soon as possible!

Please advise whether you will attend in person (for catering) or request to be sent the Zoom link, which will be sent a day or two prior.

In-person registrations will close for catering purposes at 5pm on

Friday 16 August 2024.

You can access AGM papers including the draft Agenda and the Minutes of the 2023 AGM are available in the Members Portal area of the website.

Reports and papers are still being added so check back regularly.

You may also download or complete an online proxy form to assign your vote to a friend or National Council member.

This ensures that if you cannot attend at all your voice is still heard.

We look forward to seeing you!

And finally – don’t forget…

The ANARE Club Book Sale is still open for a few more days.

Don’t miss this opportunity to pick up some rare and special books.

Visit the web page to download the catalogue and submit your bid for the books you want.

That’s all for now! See you again soon...
