Tasmanian 2025 Midwinter Dinner

The 2025 Tasmanian Midwinter Dinner is on Saturday 21st June, 2025 and is open to expeditioners and ship’s crew who have been ‘down south’ and their guests.
Update: This years Dinner will be coordinated by Lauren Wise.
The Night: Saturday 21st June, 2025, 6pm for 7pm.
The Venue: The dinner will be held at the Franklin Wharf Function Centre, Derwent Room.
The Meal: (TBA).
The Bar: (TBA).
The Seating: (TBA).
Please note: Seats are NOT confirmed until payment is received.

The Cost: $90 Members; $95 non-members & guests

Please note you only receive the ANARE Club member discount if you are financial according to the ANARE Club database at time of booking.

Bookings close (TBA) as we need to advise our venue of numbers and organise seating.
If the maximum number of bookings are received prior to this date, a waiting list will be created.

In particular we would like to know your name with place and time down south e.g.
M87/88 for a summer at Mawson
RTQ 00 if a round trip to Macquarie Island
D63 if wintered at Davis.
If you are bringing a guest please also provide their first name and surname for a name tag, and also place and time down south if applicable.

This can be given directly to Lauren – please note this is our least preferred option.
Cancellations after the (TBA) may not be refunded, although if you wish we will attempt to sell your ticket on your behalf.
Accommodation: If required, we suggest you book early for both accommodation and flights or ferry. Hobart is now a happening place at this time of the year.
In previous years we have had a number of cancellations due to inability to obtain flights and accommodation at reasonable cost at short notice.
The website www.tripadvisor.com offers good independent advice by travellers on accommodation options in Hobart.
We suggest that you approach accommodations individually, use AirBNB or one of the many accommodation booking sites.
